Bike Friday has released their newest folding bike.

tikit.jpegThe Tikitâ„¢ has been introduced, and according to Bike Friday, it’s “the world’s fastest-folding bike – and certainly the only one with the incomparable Bike Friday ride. ” This looks to be a great bike if you want a portable, easy to fold and transport bike, possibly for a commute, or neighborhood trips. It is easy to throw the bike in the back of any car and just go. We have a set of Bike Fridays that we have used on many trips. I will write a post about some of those trips later. Our New World Tourists do take a little longer to fold/unfold. With the New World Tourists, there are a couple of quick releases to secure, and you have to make sure the cabling is not tangled, so it appears they have improved that process. Looks like the brake and gearing component selection is limited on these models, but that might not be a big issue since Tikit buyers are looking for the features and style of this setup, not necessarily looking to build up a bike to fit their own spec needs. Got Our Cycle Oregon Kickoff Party Invitation.

It’s here. Our little postcards inviting me to the annual Cycle Oregon Kickoff Party. We knew the party was coming but its still cool to get the postcard in the mail. Cycle Oregon keeps their next years route a complete secret, until is it announced at the February kick off party. This year they have moved it back to the Tiger Woods Center at the Nike World Campus. It was there for several years, and then last year it was moved to the Art Museum. I thought they moved it because it worked better. The museum was certainly bigger, but now its back at Nike. Nike is a sponsor of the ride, ya think that could that have something to do with it? Anyway, Feb 13, 2007.
Route announcement at 7:00, registration opens at 7:45. This years ride will be September 8-15.
We will so be there.

The routine is well underway.

January is almost done, and as is typical, the passing of the holidays mean the starting of the “get in shape” season begins.
Having already joined a new gymn, and with work schedules calming at least for the short term, we have started working out twice a week. Our training bikes are all dialed in down in the basement for the cold/wet/windy days. Plus we have been able to get out on the bikes three days this month. So, now its agreed, we go to the gymn twice a week, train in basement once a week, and get outside once on the weekend. That schedule should keep us going through February. Then we review and adjust.
