So we are having a late night social out on the terrace in the backyard with some friends and Bill, who is looking around the landscaping says, say, would you like a Rose of Sharon bush? It seems they are doing some extensive landscaping which includes a big concrete wall, the they have this bush that is in the way and they want it gone. Honeys ears perk up when she hears this and I can hear her mutter softy…..ooohh pretty bush, pretty bush…. What the heck, I agree to go dig it up, seems pretty simple. Turns out this bush is more of a tree, having been growing up against their house foundation for 20 years or more, and stands just a little over 11 feet tall. This I did not know before I agreed. This would not be an easy garden task. But once started, fueled by pride and a determination to not be defeated by an old bush, it was a job I had to finish. Two hours, and one busted contractors wheelbarrow later, we have managed to wrangle it out of its hole, over an embankment and into the trailer for its trip home. Once home, I wrestled with the thing for a half hour, still unable to get it into my wheelbarrow before Joe, from across the street took pity and came to help. We got it around back where it would have to sit til Honey confirms its location the following day. We picked a great spot, where the plant could be seen from the house, and serve to screen the view of the neighbors windows as well. Once planted and watered, it was no more than 30 seconds before a pair of hummingbirds swooped in to inspect the new growth. After checking out all the new blooms, the hummingbird just sat tin the bush. It seemed odd to me that a hyperactive animal such as a hummingbird would just sit and do nothing. Makes sense they have to a some point, I guess I have just never thought about it. Seems that its an instant hit with the local wildlife. Honey was pleased, and hoped that it would continue to bloom for the coming weeks. I was just hoping the thing wouldn’t die, or that she would want it moved again. Now that its done, I wonder what would be going through the neighbors mind, when they see this plant that rises 5 feet about the fence-line. “I dont remember that, was that always there?”
Now I’m broken,
Here I stand alone
Wondering what were the last words I said to you.
Hopeing, praying that I’ll find a way to turn back time, can I turn back time?
What would I give to behold,
the smile, the face of love.
You never left me, the wondering sun will always speak your name.
Now I’m broken,
Here I stand alone
Wondering what were the last words I said to you.
It won’t be long, we’ll meet again
What would I give to behold,
the smile, the face of love.
You never left me, the wondering sun will always speak your name.
It won’t be long, we’ll meet again
Your memory is never passing
It won’t be long, we’ll meet again
My love for you is everlasting.
I mourn for those who never knew you
I mourn for those who never knew you
It won’t be long, we’ll meet again
Your memory is never passing
It won’t be long, we’ll meet again
My love for you is everlasting.
It won’t be long, we’ll meet again
